Edible Landscapes

Edible landscapes combine food producing plants (fruit and nut trees, berry bushes, vegetables, herbs, edible flowers, and ornamentals) and aesthetic design.

There are many reasons to grow food in your yard:

  • enjoy freshly grown fruit and vegetables
  • control pesticide and herbicides sprayed on your food
  • save on grocery bills
  • grow specialty vegetables unavailable in stores
  • provide food and habitat for butterflies

Green Gardeners can help you design and choose food plants that are both low-maintenance and aesthetically-pleasing.

In addition, we are working on developing a new website, called www.ediblelandscaping.ca to list gardening/growing techniques for the home gardener as well as for projects in your local area.
